Bob Michalski with John Scheper
Destination Chapin SC. Congratulations to John and Terri Scheper on their grand opening! It was me and the Gateway Boys again(my computer band) at another grand opening. “Distinctive craftmanship” coupled with” striking details” is what it’s all about here. I’ve seen this man’s work. Looking to add on or start from the ground up? Call them. This is a sound company run by a sound family. John and Terri’s word is good. These guys have been around for over 20 years working hard getting it done. I’m glad to be a small part in such a fun evening at the grand opening. I trust this company will do well. The right philosophy and ingredients are there. Best wishes guys! Please visit them at http://www.scheperbuilders.com/

I want to thank all the wonderful Blue Cross/ Blue Shield employees that participated in the event supporting The Cultural Council of Richland and Lexington Counties. Thank you for giving through payroll deduction. I had the privilege of performing during lunch hour at one of the coolest place in town – “The Blues Bistro “, right on the Blue Cross / Blue Shield campus. It seems like when it comes to sports, people support it whole heartredly. The arts, however, are bearing the brunt of the cutbacks. If it weren’t for the arts I’m sure I’d be in prison now or possible sent to a home for bad kids when I was younger. If you happen to stumble along this blog please consider supporting your children, nephews, nieces etc. as they pursue the arts.

If you want wisdom it’s available any time a conversation is struck up with a senior adult. That’s exactly what happened as I waited for a friend at a local restaurant couple of months ago. Her name is Hazel. Nice lady. We solved the world’s problems in 15 minutes. I shared my music with Hazel and we exchanged information. Behold I got an invitation to minister tonight at her church.
I was part of the Senior Adult Night. I gained wisdom just from talking to the folks. I also gained wisdom form listening to them as well. Pastor Steven A. McLain delivered a wonderful message on wisdom. He has what I call a million dollar smile!
I had a great time in Sunday night church. Doris Mooney is another new friend. She did a great job with the music tonight. The Senior adult Choir was very beautiful as well as the pianist and organist. I hope to be back very soon.

This was the second visit at College Place Methodist Church. Oh my gosh, the food!
We could stop right there but even better than the food was the warm hugs, laughter and stories. I shared some hymns with the soprano s
ax and clarinet. One song that was not a hymn was “What a Wonderful World.” Edith Baker really enjoyed that song.
Thanks to WIS Television and Ms. Lillie’s keen eye actually thinking she was watching Columbia’s Most Wanted she saw me on the screen and immediately called the number to get in touch with me. I was playing a hymn for Joe Pinner on the live at five show.
Did I mention College Place had food? Anyway I had a lot of fun! They even laughed at my dumb jokes. Now that’s grace! This could be your new church if you’re looking for a loving church. Click http://www.columbiasc.edu/tour/church.html for more information.

- Berley and Janie Taylor
It was a beautiful ride to Leesville SC this April morning. I got to see fresh collards and strawberries along the way to First Calvary Church where I played for the Seniors today. All I can say is these people “get it!” If you want to see real people drive to Leesville. I was touched by the new friends that I made. This is a picture of just two of my new friends, Berley and Janie Taylor. Berley actually won a prize for his hat! Thank you Calvary Baptist. I can’t wait to return.

- Doug and Susan Leonard
I had the awesome pleasure to play a surprise event for Mrs. Susan Leonard Friday April 17. She had no idea when she and her sweetie Doug walked on the new Senate Street boardwalk I would come out from under the bridge playing “Because You Loved Me” on the soprano saxophone. It was a memorable experience. May God bless this union now and forever. Now THIS is a man I would do business with.

What a beautiful, spring morning to be playing “In The Garden.” This is just one of my favorite hymns that I got to share at Trinity. My daughter Melody also joined me with her variation of “His Eye Is On The Sparrow.” It was good to see some friends that I haven’t sen in a while. Speaking of friends, I also had the privilege of playing sax along with Melanie Shull and Bill Johns – two musicians in a league of their own.
Thank you Trinity folks for your wonderful support. May God bless you with a new Pastor that He sees fit for every, single person at this great church. I can’t wait to meet him!

Once again the dream team of Dupre Percival catering and “Soul Food”, a high end jazz quartet had a fantastic evening as Ameris Bank held their grand opening in the great city of Lexington South Carolina. Soul food is Butch Faile (bass), Chuck Campbell (guitar) and Ken Branham(drums) Chris Bussell (sax). These guys are the real deal!
Ameris Bank is also the real deal. http://americanbankingcompany.com/
Please visit Ameris Bank in the heart of Lexington. If you can find the Wal Mart on 378, and most people can, Ameris is right across the street.
Many thanks to those who came out on a beautiful evening for this fine event!

For the third consecutive year I’ve had the honor of providing music for this fine organization at the annual luncheon. Of course I had some help from John McCullough (piano), Steve Lansburg (drums) and Larry Welch (bass). This is a favorite quartet for many people.
I encourage you to visit http://www.youthcorps.net/Leadership.htm

I had a great time meeting up once again with Pastors Ralph Schneck and Hector Rodriguez. I played for the Young At Heart luncheon. They meet 2nd Tuesday of the month at 11 AM. Wow! I had a blast. I enjoy a church that believes in humor. Pastor Ralph is very funny. pastor@first-baptist.org We set an attendance record of about 293 folks. Beautiful folks came from all over town. I met more new friends than I ever thought possible. Thanks First Baptist for making we feel welcome and the great time we had! Consider visiting First Baptist if you don’t have a church home.
