St Andrews Baptist Church has live Saints!

I guess it was about three months ago when I received an e-mail form Tom Brannon.  In such a short time I consider Tom as a dear friend.  He heard Amazing Grace, my hymns CD.  I agreed to visit his church – St. Andrews Baptist located near Boozer Shopping Center in Columbia SC. A song list was built.  A church I had driven by a hundred times is now the place for the next concert. Let me tell you, it was a cold day but when I opened the door,no wait-when a gentleman opened the door for me and offered to help bring in all the equipment I knew I just met one of the “Saints.” It was warm inside.

As I looked around folks were busy preparing food and finishing up on the last minute details. Then the moment arrived.  We ate!  That’s right.  Guess who was first in line?  Not me, my mother.  The folks welcomed my mother as if she were a long time friend.  That was pretty special and oh so was the great Italian dish all complete with cake and good old southern iced tea.

Dr. Greg Barr delivered an incredible message.  After the concert my mother and I agreed that Dr. Barr had a sweet spirit.  Heck, we plan on visiting  just to hear Dr. Barr speak again.

Thank you Tom Brannon and anybody else who made this concert a very memorable event.  I hope to return. Until then I will be shopping for a real camera.    : )
